Ramadan Iftar Celebration, Saturday, June 10th at 6:30 pm

Edmonds Lutheran Church, 23525 84th Avenue West

Join us at Edmonds Lutheran Church as we share a special Ramadan meal and learn about the history and traditions of this Muslim month of fasting. Many Muslims around the world practice Ramadan by fasting from all food and drink from dawn to dusk, every day for nearly 30 days!  This event is a partnership between the Islamic Community of Bosniaks in Washington and Edmonds Lutheran Church.  Come and hear from Jamal Rahman, a popular speaker on Islam, Sufi spirituality, and interfaith relations. Along with his Interfaith Amigos, he has been featured in the New York Times, CBS News, BBC, and various NPR programs. Jamal is co-founder and Muslim Sufi minister at Interfaith Community Sanctuary and adjunct faculty at Seattle University. He is a former co-host of Interfaith Talk Radio and travels nationally and internationally, presenting at retreats and workshops.  Following the lecture, a feast of traditional Middle Eastern delights will be served, many foods that Muslims enjoy after a long day of fasting.  This event is free of charge!!
