Summer Music Signups
Please consider sharing your musical skills with RBCC this summer! We'd love to have a wide variety of musicians sharing their talents with the congregation. Singers, instrumentalists, and ensembles are all welcome, at any level of experience - and singing or playing for your church family can be a wonderful way to work through nerves and level up your skills. And if you want to share something but need help choosing just the right thing, please reach out!
Email Katie to sign up for a summer Sunday; multiple volunteers are welcome each week. Summer services will generally follow the Revised Common Lectionary.
Music at RBCC
The music program at Richmond Beach Congregational Church has a long history of excellence. We offer opportunities for musicians of all types and levels of proficiency to perform, as well as opportunities for vocal and/or instrumental soloists or small ensembles. RBCC Choir meets weekly on Thursday evenings at 7pm PST.
For general information, questions, suggestions, or to access information for our Thursday evening rehearsals, please contact Katie Skovholt, Director of Music, at katie@rbccucc.org.

FAQs
How are the hymns and songs chosen for each service?
Our choir director consults with other worship leaders to select hymns and songs based on the upcoming themes and scripture readings.
Hymn choices are based on a number of criteria:
Appropriate text to match the theme and flow of the service
A mixture of familiar and new pieces, as well as traditional and contemporary styles
Singability for the congregation
Copyright availability for streaming services
We welcome suggestions and requests!
How do I join the choir?
Our choir does not require that you be able to read music (though it is helpful!) and no prior experience is necessary. Katie would be happy to talk with you about potential choir membership.
How can I participate in music during streaming services?
Email Katie! She can help you to find a song that fits your instrument, schedule coordinate with other musicians, and find the way to participate that works best for you.
